Columbus Blue Jackets Acquire Defenseman Milan Jurcina And Right Wing Chris Clark From Washington In

Syracuse, NY (December 28 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired defenseman Milan Jurcina and right wing Chris Clark from Washington in exchange for left wing Jason Chimera.

Jurcina, 26, has appeared in 27 games with Washington this season, notching four assists and 14 penalty minutes. He has skated in 302 career NHL games with Boston and Washington, collecting14 goals, 36 assists and 210 penalty minutes.

In addition, Jurcina skated in 159 American Hockey League games in parts of three seasons with Providence from 2003-06, recording 11 goals, 32 assists and 152 penalty minutes. A native of Liptovsky, Slovakia, Jurcina spent three seasons from 2000-03 with Halifax (QMJHL) from before turning pro, appearing in 180 games, tallying 19 goals, 34 assists and 216 penalty minutes.

Clark, 33, has appeared in 38 games with Washington this season, tallying four goals, 11 assists and 27 penalty minutes while serving as team captain. In 518 career NHL games with Calgary and Washington, he has registered 95 goals 99 assists and 641 penalty minutes.

A native of South Windsor, Connecticut, he was selected by Calgary in the third round, 77th overall, in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch's next game in on Monday, December 28 as they travel to Houston to take on the Aeros. The club's next home game is Saturday, January 2 as they take on Albany at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncneter.
