Moose Release Mark McCutcheon

The Manitoba Moose today announced they have released forward Mark McCutcheon from his professional tryout contract.

McCutcheon, 25, appeared in 12 games with the Moose after signing his PTO on Nov. 3/09. In that time, the Ithaca, NY native collected 13 penalty minutes. Earlier this year, McCutcheon also played in

five games with the Portland Pirates where he scored two goals and two penalty minutes. He has also seen action in three games with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL where he has two points (1g & 1a) along with two penalty minutes this season. McCutcheon has played in 145 career games in the AHL in three seasons with Portland, Lake Erie, and Manitoba where he has 28 points (10g & 18a) and 158 penalty minutes. McCutcheon had his best season last year with the Monsters when he collected 17 points (6g & 11a) in 65 games.

McCutcheon was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the fifth round, 146th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
