In their only game in Week 13, the Moose earned two points in a 4-1 victory over the Abbotsford Heat. The Moose now sit third in the North Division with 40 points - three points back from the second place Bulldogs and only six points back from the first place Americans. After tonight's rematch against the Heat, the Moose will host the Texas Stars and Hershey Bears for two-game sets heading into 2010.
Sunday, December 27, 2009: Manitoba 4, Abbotsford 1 In their first game back after a seven-day holiday break, the Manitoba Moose earned a 4-1 victory over the Abbotsford Heat in front of 7,748 fans at MTS Centre on Sunday night. Evan Oberg and Nathan McIver both notched their first goals of the season while Michael Grabner and Brian Salcido rounded out the scoring. Goaltender Cory Schneider stopped 24 of 25 shots in his 15th victory this campaign.
Moose Notes
CLOSING OUT THE SERIES: Tonight, Manitoba closes out their 14th doubleheader this season. In the second game of a two-game series, the Moose are 5-7-1-0. They have suffered losses in their last two series closing games (December 12 at Norfolk, 4-5L; December 19 vs. Lake Erie, 2-3L). So far this season the Moose are 5-7-1-0 after winning the first game of the pair.
WIN-LOSE PATTERN CONTINUES: So far this season, the Moose are 3-7-2-0 after a win and 9-5-0-0 after a loss. After winning a contest, the Moose have lost their following game 12 times this season -- most recently suffering a 3-2 loss to the Lake Erie Monsters after earning a 1-0 victory against the club the previous night. After 36 games this season, the club has only enjoyed a season-high three-game winning streak on home ice from November 13-20. Historically, the clubs longest winning streak runs 10 games and has occurred twice.

Tonight, the Manitoba Moose host the Abbotsford Heat for their final meeting at MTS Centre this season. So far, the Moose are 2-1-0-0 against the Heat with all games being played in Winnipeg. The Moose will start their four-game set in Abbotsford on January 12, 2010. Sergei Shirokov leads the Moose with six points against the Heat (1g, 5a) while Jamie Lundmark leads his squad with five (3g, 2a).
