Wolves Send Sipotz To Gwinnett

The Chicago Wolves have signed defenseman BRIAN SIPOTZ to a standard players' contract (SPC) and reassigned him to the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators.

The 28-year-old blueliner has notched two assists and 18 penalty minutes in 10 games with the Wolves this season.

Overall, the South Bend, Ind., native has tallied 39 assists, 48 points and 184 penalty minutes in 335 regular-season AHL outings with Chicago from 2004 to 2009. He also registered seven points (G, 6A) in 47 career Calder Cup Playoff contests with Chicago, which includes helping the squad win the 2008 Calder Cup Championship and reaching the Calder Cup Finals in 2005.

Prior to turning pro, SIPOTZ totaled 139 penalty minutes and five assists in 119 matchups spanning four seasons at Miami University of Ohio (2000-2004).

The Wolves host the Houston Aeros at the Allstate Arena on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
