Clones Acquire Ryan Brindley

Cincinnati, OH-Cincinnati Cyclones coach and general manager Chris Cichocki announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Ryan Brindley from the South Carolina Stingrays in exchange for future considerations.

Brindley spent the last three years with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. Last season, Brindely rang up 13 goals and 17 assists for 30 points in 62 games. Brindley also had 119 penalty minutes last year. In 2001, Brindley won the Kelly Cup with the ‘Rays. Over his time in South Carolina, Brindley played 181 games scoring 40 goals and adding 74 assists for 114 points with 367 penalty minutes.

Brindley's best offensive season as a pro came in 1999-2000 with the Western Professional Hockey League's Austin Ice Bats. Brindley amassed 17 goals and 46 assists for 63 points while also racking up 116 penalty minutes. In 287 professional games, Brindley has scored 60 goals and added 127 assists for 187 points with 553 penalty minutes.

Other Cyclone Transactions: Earlier this week, the Clones trimmed their roster in preparation for their home opener on Friday. RW John Campbell, D Shaun Fisher, LW Anthony Greer, D Kevin Holdridge, RW Troy Ilijow, G Dave Marlin and C Bob Rangus were all released by the club.
