Steelheads Announce Opening Day Roster

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads today announced their inaugural ECHL opening day roster. Idaho opens their season at home at the Bank of America Centre on Friday, October 17th against the expansion Las Vegas Wranglers. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Fans will see eight familiar faces this season among the many new. Returning from Idaho's 2002-03 roster are defensemen Jeremy Mylymok and Martin Vasut; forwards Adam Copeland, Ben Keup, Scott Burt, Chris Marinucci, Derek Paget; and goaltender Blair Allison.

Newcomers include goaltender Dan Ellis, who has been assigned to Idaho by the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars, as well as three players assigned by the American Hockey League's Utah Grizzlies - defenseman Regan Darby, and forwards Warren Peters and Zenon Konopka.

In addition, several players have been added to the roster on ECHL contracts, and include forwards Jeremy Chadsey (played last season Quesnel-BCHL), Ben Kilgour (Tri-City-WHL), Andrew Proskurnicki (Louisiana-ECHL), Chris Gobert (Cincinnati-AHL), Jan Kopecky (Havirov Femax HC-Czech), and Mike Hanson (Quad City-UHL). Defensemen include Sean Peach (Mississippi-ECHL), Wade Davis (Kamloops-WHL), Michael Vyhlidal (Pardubice HC-Czech), Dave Cornacchia (Mississippi-ECHL), and Darrell Hay (Manitoba-AHL).
