ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL unveiled their initial 2003-04 roster this afternoon. As of today, 20 players begin the season on the active roster with two on the injured reserve.

The Bullies roster will undergo changes in the near future with today's additions of defenseman Kam White and forward Stefan Rivard.

For the time being though, Head Coach Mike Haviland will open the season with eight players returning from last year's Kelly Cup Championship squad and a total of 14 rookies. Among those returning include All-Star MVP goaltender Scott Stirling and fourth leading scorer Jim Henkel. Stirling went 17-3-4 with the Bullies in 2002-03 and received seven call-ups to the American Hockey League. Local product Henkel received strong rookie of the year consideration after a season that produced 32 goals and 36 assists. Forward Luke Curtin, defensemen Steve Munn, Dave Reid, Ian Walterson, and Kirk Furey, and goaltender Jake Moreland are the other returnees.

Highlighting the rookies is center Pierre-Luc Sleigher who recorded 38 goals, 67 assists and 226 penalty minutes with Victoriaville in the Quebec Major Junior League last year.

Forward Matt Hubbauer begins the season on the 7-day injured reserve and forward Aaron Foster starts on the 30-day injured reserve.

The defending ECHL Kelly Cup Champion Boardwalk Bullies open Season Three against the Texas Wildcatters on Friday, October 17, at Boardwalk Hall.
