October 15, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Devils News Release

Trenton, NJ - The Trenton Titans Professional Hockey Team announced today that Joe Zydlo has resigned from the team effective October 21st to pursue another opportunity. Michael O'Brien was named his replacement, and will handle all media relations and broadcasting duties.

Zydlo will be leaving the Titans to a take position with Gateway International Speedway in Madison, IL. He had spent the first four seasons of the franchises' existence as the Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting. Zydlo was nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy in 2002, and was named the ECHL's first-ever Broadcaster of the Year, as voted on by his peers in the league.

"This has been the toughest decision of my life," stated Zydlo. "I feel like I have accomplished everything I possibly could working at this level, and when my new opportunity came about I could not pass it up. To be closer to my family (Chicago, IL) was also very important to me. I want to thank Geoffrey Berman and the Titans' ownership, as well as Brian McKenna and Rich Lisk for giving me the opportunity to shine and advance my career. Also, many thanks to all the coaches, staff and players I have met and worked with for their trust and friendship. To the fans, thank you most of all for welcoming me into your homes the past four years."

O'Brien, 26, joins the Titans after spending the past two years working for the National Hockey League office in New York City. He is a graduate of Boston College where he called games for the Eagles. O'Brien has also worked at WFMZ TV-69 in Allentown, PA.

"I am very excited to become a part of the Trenton Titans family," stated O'Brien. "This truly is a dream come true. I realize I have some big shoes to fill, but I am looking forward to the challenge ahead."

Full season and partial ticket plans are on sale now by calling the Titans' ticket office at (609) 599-9500. The Titans begin "Five Years of Riveting Hockey" sponsored by St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center on Friday night October 17th at 7:30 pm against the Reading Royals at the Sovereign Bank Arena.
