Eagles Announce Roster

Windsor, CO – Head Coach Chris Stewart of the Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League (CHL), Chris Stewart, announced the opening day roster for the Eagles first official game in history Friday, October 17.

The Eagles trimmed their roster to the league maximum of 18 players (see attached roster). Captains and Assistant Captains have also been announced. The Colorado Eagles Team Captain is defenseman Brent Thompson. The Eagles have three Assistant Captains: right wingers Phil Crowe and Greg Pankewicz, and left winger Ryan Tobler.

The Colorado Eagles open their first season Friday, October 17 at 7:05 at the Bud Barn. Budweiser is the proud sponsor of the Colorado Eagles opening night. The opening game presentation will begin at 6:45 p.m. American Eagle Distributing Co. will deliver "Game Day Fresh Budweiser Beer" with a born on date of October 17 that will arrive at the Budweiser Events Center directly from the Budweiser brewery located in Fort Collins (the beer is being specially brewed specifically for the Colorado Eagles opening night). The National Anthem singer for opening night will be Eric Wilson and the ceremonial puck will be dropped by former Fort Collins Brew Master John Serbia, who is currently Anheuser-Busch's Vice President of the Brewing Group. Budweiser will also give away a commemorative Bud Light/Colorado Eagles pint glass to the first 3,000 patrons that are 21 and over. Special game programs will also be available for fans attending the Colorado Eagles 2003-04 season opener. The Eagles Chicks will perform for the first time in Colorado Eagles history following the first period of play.

The Colorado Eagles also announced that they will implement an action plan at the Budweiser Events Center designed to encourage fans to continue to act responsibly and respect the rights of others while attending Colorado Eagles home games. The Good Sport program focuses on three areas that are key in influencing fans to act responsibly: communicating positive messages stressing the importance of responsible behavior; special training of concession workers; and the implementation Safe-Ride to combat drunk driving. The Safe-Ride program includes benefits for designated drivers and Alert Cab which provides free/reduced cab rides home for fans. Fans should visit the Good Sport booth on the concourse level of the Budweiser Events Center for more information.

The Colorado Eagles will release 100 seats for Friday's game at 12 p.m. on Thursday October 16th. To reserve seats call 877-544-TIXX.

Colorado Eagles have hired Reed Saunders as their official PA Announcer. Saunders graduated from Colorado State University and was a PA Announcer for CSU Athletics.

The Colorado Eagles will re-broadcast Friday night's season opener at Jackson's Sports Bar and Grill located on Harmony and Lemay this Saturday, October 18 from 4 – 7p.m. Colorado Eagles players, Eagles Chicks, and Play-by-Play announcer Tori "Big Play" Holt will be there to re-live the Colorado Eagles season opener.
