Chiodo Reassigned to WBS Pens

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers announce today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned goaltender Andy Chiodo from the Nailers to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the AHL .

Chiodo, 22, has appeared in six games with the Nailers this season, posting a 5-1 record with a 3.45 goals against average and a .868 save percentage.

The 5'11 194 pound native of Toronto, Ontario has appeared in 66 games in parts of three seasons with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, posting a 27-29-4 record with six shutouts and a 2.61 goals against average. He has also appeared in eight games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, going 3-4-1 with a 3.46 goals against average.

Chiodo was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2003 Entry Draft. Earlier this season he became the first goaltender in Nailers' history to be recalled straight from the ECHL to the NHL.
