
Project Warm Families Coat Collection on Wednesday; Stanley Cup on Display for Hurricane Relief

Tuesday, November 29 : Director of Community Relations Mikie Hayhurst and Condors players Justin Quenneville, Reagan Leslie, Mike Hofstrand, Jordan Little, Oriel McHugh, Nick Economakos, Eric Neilson and Joel Irving will join with Junior Achievement for Condors Day at Ronald Reagan Elementary. The group will present lessons in fourth and sixth grade classrooms from 1-3pm. Ronald Reagan Elementary is located at 10800 Rosslyn Lane in Bakersfield.
Wednesday, November 30 : The Condors battle the Johnstown Chiefs as KGET-TV 17, News Radio 970 KGET, and Barber Honda host Project Warm Families Coat Collection. Donate a new or slightly used coat and receive $1.00 terrace admission to the game. Last year, a team high 2,860 coats were collected, bringing the event's history close to 12,000. The coats will be donated to needy families through Junior Achievement. The Stanley Cup will be on display in the arena that night as part of the NHL/ECHL Hurricane Relief Tour. Fans can have their picture taken with the Cup on the main concourse during the game.
Thursday, December 1 : Tune in to KGEO AM 1230 for the Condors Coach's Show from 6- 7pm. This week Director of Media Relations Devin Rossiter will be joined by Condors goalie Ryan Munce and the newly acquired forward Joel Irving. Due to the team's travel schedule the Coach's Show will be pre-recorded this week.
Thursday, December 1 : Members of the Condors Freeze Team will join Colonel Claw'd and Baby Cal at the Downtown Christmas Parade. Look for Freeze Team members and mascots on the KGET- TV 17 float. The theme for this year's parade is "A Storybook Christmas". The parade will begin at 6pm at the corner of "L" & 21st, continue South on "L" Street to 17th Street, turn right on 17th Street, cross over Chester Avenue, turn left on "F" Street & end at "F" Street & Truxtun Avenue. Please join everyone downtown for this highlight of the holiday season!

Monday, November 21:Account Executive Greg Lowe and Condors players Kevin St. Jacques and Mike Hofstrand attended Fairview Elementary. The players stressed the importance of being on time, getting an education and the value of teamwork.
Friday, November 25: Director of Community Relations Mikie Hayhurst appeared on KGET-TV 17 News at Sunrise. Hayhurst discussed the upcoming "Project Warm Families" coat collection.
Saturday, November 26: 29 Eyewitness News, KERN 1410 AM & Wells Fargo Bank sponsored the Condors annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans flooded the ice with stuffed animals moments after the Condors scored their first goal. It took more than 45 volunteers and over 13 minutes to clear the floor. The teddy bears were donated to less-fortunate children through the United Way of Kern County.
