Gladiators Acquire Goaltender Collins

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have acquired goaltender Chad Collins from the Dayton Bombers for financial considerations. In a separate transaction, the Gladiators released goaltender Brandon Crawford-West.

Collins began the season with the Toledo Storm where he appeared in 3 games posting a 2-1-1 record and a 2.92 goals against average. Dayton acquired Collins on November 8th and he went winless in three starts for the Bombers.

The Guelph, Ontario native recorded his first professional win making 47 saves in a 3-2 victory over the Gladiators last season with the Augusta Lynx on March 31st.

Collins was named the SPHL Rookie of the Year and Goaltender of the Year in 2004-05 and was also named to the SPHL All-Star Team that same season.

Collins should be available for the Gladiators for Friday's 7:30 p.m. tilt against the Florida Everblades in Florida.

The Gwinnett Gladiators continue the 2005-06 ECHL season at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Tuesday, November 15th as they host the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 7:05 p.m. The Gladiators offer several ticket packages for different needs as well as group outings, suites and birthday parties.
