Augusta Lynx News Release

The Greenville Grrrowl did all the scoring needed in the second period of a 2-1 victory over the Augusta Lynx on Tuesday night at the Bi-Lo Center in South Carolina.

The scoring started in the second period as Les Haggett converted a 5-on-3 power play chance for the Grrrowl just 1:26 into the second period. Greenville followed that with a John Snowden goal at 11:54 to take a two-goal lead into the third period.

In the final frame, Martin Lapointe gave the Lynx life with a power play goal at 5:36 from Sam Ftorek and Joel Stepp, but Augusta could draw no closer. Mike Brodeur picked up the win with 24 saves while Jason Wolfe took the loss with 31 stops.

The Lynx are right back to action at home Wednesday night at 7:05 pm against the Pensacola Ice Pilots. Tickets are on sale now through all TicketMaster locations, on line at www.TicketMaster.com, and through the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE.
