Lynx' Wolfe Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jason Wolfe of the Augusta Lynx is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for November 21-27.

The 6-foot-5 and 220-pound goaltender was 2-0-0 with a 1.44 goals-against average and stopping 95 of 98 shots for a .969 save percentage as the Lynx were 2-1-0 and improved to 7-5-2.

Wolfe made a team-high 53 saves, including 14 in the third period and two in overtime, and then stopped five of six shooters in the shootout for a 3-2 shootout win at Gwinnett on Thanksgiving and celebrated his birthday on Nov. 26 making 42 saves in a 3-1 win against Charlotte.

Signed by Augusta on Oct. 13, Wolfe is 2-2-0 and ranks third in the league with a save percentage of .939 while he ranks fifth in the league in shootout percentage with .833 and is tied for sixth in the league with a goals-against average of 2.27 in five games.

In 2004-05 with Bakersfield, Mississippi and Texas of the ECHL, Wolfe was 9-12-2 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 3.70 and a save percentage of .901 in 23 games.

In 2003-04 with Reading and Roanoke of the ECHL, he was 16-16-3 and had a goals-against average of 3.35 in 37 games.

Before turning professional, the College Park, Md. Native played four years at Merrimack College from 1998-2002 playing 18 games, including 10 as a senior.

Runners Up: Cody Rundkowsky, Reading (2-0-0, .55 GAA, .978 save pct.) and Brett Jaeger, Fresno (1-0-1, 1.88 GAA, .932 save pct).
