CHARLESTON, SC - The Florida Everblades (9-6-0) saw their two-game winning streak come to and end with a 3-2 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays (5-9-5) on Tuesday night at the North Charleston Coliseum. With the decision, the Everblades saw their second longest road trip of the season end with a 3-3-0 record.
Despite two third period goals, the Everblades couldn't overcome falling behind early after the Stingrays collected two first period goals by Ryan Finnerty. The Stingrays increased their lead to 3-0 when Jeff Legue tipped home a power play goal at 15:59 of the second period.
In the final period, the Everblades battled back with a pair of goals to cut the South Carolina lead to one. Nick Vukovic tallied the first Florida goal after blasting a slap shot past Stingrays net-minder Maxime Daigneault at 8:06. The Everblades took advantage of a late power play to cut the Stingrays lead to one when Paul Cabana deflected a shot from the point with 36 seconds remaining.
Osaer saw his personal five-game winning streak come to an end after allowing three goals on 22 shots to fall to 5-2-0. Daigneault earned the win by turning away 28 of 30 Florida shots, bringing his record to 5-7-3.
On the power play, both teams finished 1-for-3.
