CHECKERS PREPARE FOR 8 GAMES IN 13 DAYS
CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte Checkers dropped two games last week, both to divisional opponents. The good news is the Checkers move into a stretch of the season filled with home games. This week the Checkers play three of four games at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena - where the Checkers are 11-8-2. With another great crowd on Saturday (9,644) the Checkers rank third in the ECHL in attendance averaging 5,818 over 21 games.

Thursday, February 2, 2006 vs. Gwinnett, L, 4-5 CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Gwinnett Gladiators defeated the Charlotte Checkers 5-4 in front of 4,205 fans Thursday at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Guillaume Desbiens scored two goals for the Gladiators including the game winner on a power play at the 5:59 mark of the third period.
Saturday, February 4, 2006 vs. Columbia, L, 2-6 Mike Stathopoulos turned in a hat trick as the Columbia Inferno defeated the Charlotte Checkers 6-2 Saturday in front of 9,644 fans at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Stahopoulos was named the First Star of the game.
