Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted a 2-1-0 record this past week starting with a 6-5 shootout win at Idaho on Monday night. Friday night, Las Vegas was defeated 5-3 in Long Beach. The Wranglers bounced back with a 6-4 win at Bakersfield on Saturday evening.

This week the Wranglers will return home to play the Alaska Aces on Tuesday, February 7th at 7:05 pm. Saturday night Las Vegas will visit the Utah Grizzlies at 7:05 pm (MST).

Las Vegas 6 at Idaho 5 SO

Boise, ID - The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Idaho Steelheads 6-5 in a shootout at the Qwest Arena on Monday night. Center Matt Dzieduszycki scored twice in regulation and scored the game-winning goal in the shootout to lead the Wranglers to their 32nd win of the season. Defenseman Christian Chartier and forwards Sean O'Connor and Steve Crampton also scored for the Wranglers. Goalie Marc Magliarditi made 31 saves for his 200th ECHL victory.

Las Vegas 3 at Long Beach 5

Long Beach, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Long Beach Ice Dogs 5-3 at the Long Beach Arena on Friday night. Center Matt Dzieduszycki scored twice and set a new team record for goals in one season with his 23rd tally of the year. Long Beach winger Sean McAslan scored four goals and assisted on another for a five-point night. Ice Dogs goalie Greg Hewitt stopped 36 of 39 Las Vegas shots for the victory.

Las Vegas 4 at Bakersfield 6

Bakersfield, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Bakersfield Condors 6-4 at Rabobank Arena on Saturday night. Forward Sean O'Connor scored twice and fellow forwards Todd Alexander, Marco Peluso, Matt Dzieduszycki and Chris Stanley also scored for Las Vegas. Wranglers' goalie Marc Magliarditi made 29 saves to move into a tie for second place on the ECHL's all-time wins list with 201.

Edwardson Called Up to Portland

The Las Vegas Wranglers announced Friday that center Derek Edwardson was recalled to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League. In 41 games this season with the Wranglers, Edwardson is third on the team in scoring with 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points. The center also added 36 penalty minutes and a +10 rating. The Morton Grove, IL native has played in four AHL games this season tallying an assist and two penalty minutes for the Portland Pirates. Edwardson played the 2004-05 season with the ECHL's Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Last season, Edwardson also played in five AHL games, three with the Grand Rapids Griffins, and two with the Hamilton Bulldogs. Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-9 center played four years at Miami University (Ohio). During his time with the Redhawks, Edwardson accumulated 120 points in 135 games played. His best season came as a senior scoring 48 points (17g-31a) in 41 games played.

Alaska Aces - (36-6-3, 75 Points) - The Wranglers are 0-3-0 against the Aces this season, with Alaska outscoring Las Vegas 9-3 in the three previous meetings. Alaska has the best record in the ECHL and the highest winning percentage at .833. The Aces come to Las Vegas riding a nine-game winning streak. Alaska is 9-1-0 in their last ten games played and a league-leading 17-4-2 road record. Goalie Matt Underhill leads the ECHL with 23 wins and a 1.99 goals against average. His .927 save percentage is second best in the league. Alaska has three players in the top six in scoring for the ECHL. Winger Barrett Heisten leads the team in scoring with 20 goals and 35 assists for 55 points in 44 games played. Rookie all-star Alex Leavitt is tied for the team lead in points with 55 and leads the ECHL with 42 assists in 45 games played. Former Wrangler Tyan Gaucher is among the league leaders for defensemen with 45 points (10G-35 A) in 30 games played.

Utah Grizzlies - (23-19-4, 50 Points) - The Wranglers are 2-1-1 against the Grizzlies this season, outscoring Utah 18-15. The Grizzlies are 13-10-2 at home and 3-5-2 in their last 10 games played. Ryan Kinasewich leads the team in scoring with 46 points (22G-24 A) in 35 games played.
