
'Blades Place McNeill on IR

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defenseman Grant McNeill has been placed on the 30-day injured reserve list. As per team policy the injury was not disclosed.
McNeill, 22, suffered the injury in Florida's 5-4 shootout loss to Idaho on Friday night at Germain Arena. McNeill heads to the IR having scored two points (1g, 1a) in 30 games with the Everblades this season. The Vermillion, Alberta native has also skated in two games with Rochester of the American Hockey League.
McNeill, a 3rd round draft pick by the Panthers in 2001, spent the majority of the 2004-05 season with San Antonio of the AHL where he picked up two assists and 231 penalty minutes in 40 games. The 22-year-old also skated in 24 games with the Texas Wildcatters adding 111 PIM and three assists. In 2003-04 McNeill made his professional and NHL debut with the Panthers playing in three games. The Vermillion, Alberta native also played in 33 games during the '03-'04 season at the AHL level with San Antonio where he compiled 110 penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, McNeill spent four years in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders, picking up 32 total points and 929 total penalty minutes in 260 career games.
The Everblades return to action on February 10 when they take on the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 8:05 p.m. from the Pensacola Civic Center. Everblades half season, group tickets, and individual game tickets are on sale now!
