May 9, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release
Buster T. Bison, official mascot of the Buffalo Bisons, joined his bison brothers and sisters across the country in celebrating the passing of the National Bison Legacy Act today. The bill, first introduced in the Senate by Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and John Hoeven (R-N.D.), was signed by President Barack Obama earlier today, officially designating the bison as America's "National Mammal.'
In honor of this great announcement, the Buffalo Bisons will now hold a special celebration of the "National Bison Legacy Act' at their home game on Wednesday, June 15 against the Durham Bulls that will include a Bison Poster Giveaway to the first 3,000 fans in attendance (7:05 p.m. game, gates at 6:00 p.m.).
"It's a tremendous honor for myself and all the strong and proud bison of America to be given this wonderful designation," said Buster. "To represent our great country as its official mammal is absolutely a dream come true.
"Now, not only do I get to be part of our nation's greatest pastime by being a part of the Buffalo Bisons team, but also serve as a symbol of the strength and spirit of the greatest country in the world."
Tickets to the June 15th game are available on Bisons.com and are only $13.00 for special reserved seating in when purchased in advance of game day and $12 for reserved seating.
