Bulldogs Down Marlies with 2-1 Win

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Marlies 2-1 on Friday night at Copps Coliseum. Ryan Russell scored both goals for Hamilton while Peter Delmas earned his first-career AHL win making 32 saves on 33 shots.

Following a scoreless first period, the 'Dogs opened the game's scoring at 17:11 of the second stanza. David Desharnais used a deke move before snapping a shot on net that was saved by Toronto starting goaltender James Reimer. Desharnias grabbed his own rebound before dishing a pass to Russell, who one-timed a shot past Reimer and into the net.

The Marlies tied the game 1-1 at 19:53 of the middle frame with a power-play marker. Juraj Mikus sent a pass along the blue line to Jeff Finger, who fired a shot towards the net. Christian Hanson managed to get his stick on the puck, redirecting the shot past Hamilton starting goaltender Peter Delmas.

Russell added his second goal of the game at 1:24 of the final frame to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. Desharnais fed a pass to Ryan Russell, who was skating down the left side boards. Russell blasted a shot that sailed over the glove of Reimer and into the top of the net.

The 'Dogs will welcome the Manitoba Moose to Copps Coliseum for back-to-back games on Tuesday, November 2nd and Wednesday, November 3rd both with 7:00 p.m. scheduled start times. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. All pre-game shows during 'Dogs home games will be broadcast live from the main concourse at Copps Coliseum.
