
Brodeur Named RBK Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that goaltender Mike Brodeur (BRO-dur) has been named the RBK Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week after going 3-0-0 with 2 shutouts in his first home weekend series with the Storm.
The 23-year old Calgary, Alberta native stopped 81 of 84 shots he faced in the three-game weekend series, posting a 1.00 goals-against average and a 0.964 save percentage during that stretch. On Friday night, he turned aside 25 shots to earn his first shutout as a Storm netminder. Saturday night, he stopped 32 of 35 as the Storm defeated the Bombers 5-3. Then, on Sunday, Brodeur collected his second shutout of the weekend, blocking 24 shots against the Johnstown Chiefs. Following the weekend series, Brodeur has a 3-2-0 record with Toledo, and a 2.00 GAA with a .938 SVP.
The Storm will play 7 of their next 8 games away from Toledo Sports Arena, beginning next Friday night against the Dayton Bombers at 7:00pm from the Nutter Center. Toledo will return to the home ice on January 31st when they will host the Trenton Titans at 7:30pm from Toledo Sports Arena!
