Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release
PENSACOLA, FL -- The Pensacola Ice Pilots posted a mark of 1-2-0-0 this week in the ECHL, following a three game set with the Texas Wildcatters. The Ice Pilots earned a 4-2 win over the Texas, but lost the next two 5-2 and 6-3. The Ice Pilots currently have a record of 10-28-1-1 for 22 points.
DODGE/ICE PILOTS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: For a second consecutive week, the Dodge/Ice Pilots Player of the Week is Dallas Steward. The Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin native followed up last week's great numbers with even more success on the ice, notching one goal and three assists for four points in the three games against the Texas Wildcatters. He also had six shots on goal and the game-winning goal on Friday night against Texas.
ICE CHIPS: In the month of January Mike Wirll continues to put up solid numbers for the Ice Pilots with 14 points (11 goals - 3 assists) in nine games. New faces David Wrigley, John Hecimovic and Sergei Ogorodnikov have combined for 14 goals and 33 points in 10 games.
The Pensacola Ice Pilots notched their first win on Friday night when they were tied after the second period and trailing through 20 minutes of play. The win at The Hangar on Friday night helped the Ice Pilots continue their great play at home, posting a mark of 4-3 in their last seven games.
NEXT FOUR OF SIX ON HOME ICE: After taking to the road this weekend in South Carolina, the Pensacola Ice Pilots will play their next four games at The Hangar. The Ice Pilots will host the Florida Everblades on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7:05 pm, followed by the Columbia Inferno and Charlotte Checkers on Friday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 3. The final contest of the four game stretch is against the Texas Wildcatters on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, JANUARY 26 & 27 @ COLUMBIA INFERNO, 6:05 PM CENTRAL, 7:05 PM EASTERN ON BOTH NIGHTS.
It's the third trip to Columbia South Carolina this season for the Pensacola Ice Pilots and so far the Blue and Gold is 1-1. The Ice Pilots won the first meeting 3-2, but the last time they met, the Inferno netted a late power play goal in the second period and another early in the third to beat Pensacola 6-4.

Friday January 19 - Ice Pilots 4 - Texas Wildcatters 2
Michael Mole was outstanding in net and two third period goals propelled the Pensacola Ice Pilots to a 4-2 victory over the Texas Wildcatters at The Hangar. Michael Mole turned aside 31 of 33 shots in the contest. Jason Goulet pulled the Ice Pilots even at 1-1 in the second period. David Wrigley added a shorthanded goal in the third period to make it 2-1. After Texas tied the game, Pensacola would score the next two from Dallas Steward and Sergei Ogorodnikov to seal the victory.
Saturday January 20 - Wildcatters 5 -- Ice Pilots 2
The Ice Pilots were unable to sustain the momentum from their Friday night victory over the Texas Wildcatters, and had to settle for a split on home ice with a 5-2 loss, in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 4,644. Sergei Ogorodnikov scored early from Mike Wirll and Dallas Steward. However, Texas netted the next two goals to bring the score to 2-1. Pensacola rallied to tie the game 2-2 when Dan Sullivan tipped home a pass from Derrick Byfuglien. Texas then took control and scored the next three goals to win the game 5-2. The Ice Pilots out-shot the Wildcatters 37-32, but couldn't get the puck past Texas goaltender Miroslav Kopriva. Evan Lindsay made his home debut and took the loss.
Sunday January 21 - Wildcatters 6 - Ice Pilots 3
The Pensacola Ice Pilots surrendered four power play goals and were doubled 6-3 by the Texas Wildcatters on Sunday afternoon at Ford Arena in Beaumont, TX. It was the first trip to Texas by the Ice Pilots since the opening weekend of the season.
The Ice Pilots rallied from a 4-1 early second period deficit to get to within one. Mike Wirll, Nate Metcalf and David Wrigley scored goals for the Blue and Gold. However, Texas fired a late second-period power play goal to make it 5-3 and then added a sixth and final marker early in the third.
