Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors look to extend their first place lead this week when they host the Fresno Falcons on Wednesday, Jan. 24th, and the Victoria Salmon Kings on Friday, Jan. 26th and Saturday, Jan. 27th. Wednesday and Friday's games have a 7 p.m. start time; doors open at 6 p.m. Saturday will have a special start time of Noon; doors will open at 11 a.m.
Wednesday is College/High School ID Night. All college and high school students receive executive level admission for $1.00 by presenting their student ID at the Rabobank Arena box office, courtesy of CW Bakersfield & The Big 96.5.
On Friday, KGET-TV 17 and University of Phoenix present the ZOOperstars! Watch as they perform live during the first and second intermissions. See 10- foot tall mascot characters Snail Earnhardt, Jr., Nomar Garciaparrot, Mia Hammster, LeBronco James, Mackerel Jordan, Peyton Manatee and Monkey Mantle entertain children of all ages.
Saturday, Jan. 27th, FOX 58 and Bud Light present Super Bowl Jersey Raffle and Auction. During the bye week before the Super Bowl, the Condors will wear jerseys recognizing Bakersfield's Pigskin tradition and the Super Bowl which will be auctioned off after the game, plus everyone in attendance has a chance to win one of five to be given away! All proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to the Petroleum Shrine Club. All fans interested on bidding on the jerseys should go to the Grape Room behind section 112 following the completion of the game.
The jerseys have depictions of the following locals who have made a big impact in the NFL:
Houston Texans QB David Carr, a graduate of Stockdale High
Former NY Giants RB Frank Gifford, a graduate of Bakersfield High
Former Cowboys and Dolphins DB Brock Marion, a graduate of West High
Former Minnesota Vikings RB Brent McClanahan, a graduate of South High
New England Patriots G Steven Neal, a graduate of California State University, Bakersfield
Pittsburgh Steelers LB Joey Porter, a graduate of Foothill High
Former Minnesota Vikings LB Jeff Siemon, a graduate of Bakersfield High
With the exception of David Carr, all the local football players listed have played in the Super Bowl. Brent McClanahan will be in attendance to drop the ceremonial first puck!
Saturday is also Condors Kids Club Day! All Condors Kids Club members receive free admission to the game, courtesy of Bright House Networks, Bakersfield Californian and Wells Fargo Bank.
Saturday is also a T.H.I.N.K. Day presented by Mercy and Memorial Hospitals and ARRC Technology. The Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge program allows students to earn terrace admission to Saturday night's game through exceptional performance in academics and behavior.
After Wednesday's game stop by the Holiday Inn Select Autograph Booth located on the concourse behind section 108 and get your Nightly Notes signed by Kevin Truelson and David Kudelka. After Friday's game stop by the booth to get your souvenir program signed by Kevin Asselin and Mike Hofstrand. After Saturday's game stop by the booth and get a signature from Kevin St. Jacques and Scott Borders.
Individual game tickets are on sale and may be purchased through Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322- 2525, online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com, or at any Ticketmaster location.
Most games, home and away, can be seen online through B2 Networks, accessible via www.bakersfieldcondors.com, and can be heard live on KGEO Hot Talk AM 1230 with "Condors Countdown" starting 15 minutes prior to face off. Saturday's game will be televised live on Bright House Ch. 21 and re-aired Sunday at 7 p.m. All games can also be heard online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com.
