Augusta Lynx News Release

Augusta, GA - The Augusta Lynx announced Monday night on the Lynx Radio Hour that they have been assigned forward Jamie Johnson from the Iowa Stars and defenseman Nate Saunders from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.

Both players will be in a Lynx uniform in time to face off against the Columbia Inferno Tuesday night at 7:05 pm at the Frank McGuire Arena in South Carolina.

Johnson returns to the Lynx still ranked third in team scoring with 12 goals and 35 points in26 games with the club earlier this season. While on recall with Iowa Johnson scored once and added three assists in eight games for the team.

Saunders will help fill the void created by the recall of fellow Anaheim prospect and defenseman Nick Kuiper to Portland this past weekend. Originally a fourth round draft pick for Anaheim in 2003, the 6-3, 225-pound blueliner has seen action in a total of 13 games for the Pirates this year, notching three assists and a +2 rating over that span.

Both will be in the lineup tonight as the Lynx take on the Inferno at 7:05 pm. Radio coverage begins one half-hour before faceoff on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
