Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Brent McDonald has been activated off the 3-day Injured Reserve list and that defenseman Ryan Van Buskirk has been placed on the 3-day IR. As per team policy the injury was not disclosed.

McDonald returns to the lineup after missing the last three games because of an injury suffered in Florida's 2-1 overtime victory over the South Carolina Stingrays on January 12. The 27-year-old is fourth on the team in scoring with 28 points (11g, 17a) in 32 games. Earlier this season the Olds, Alberta native recorded his second career hat-trick and became the Everblades all-time leader in games played on the same night, a 7-5 win at Pensacola on December 8.

Van Buskirk makes his second trip to the IR since signing with the Everblades on December 5. The 27-year-old has picked up 10 points (1g, 9a) in 14 games with Florida this season. Prior to signing with the Everblades Van Buskirk played in 11 games with Wichita of the Central Hockey League where he tallied two assists.

The Florida Everblades, proud affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers, return to the ice on Friday, January 26 when they host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena.
