Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska's American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen, have loaned defenseman Stephen Wood and winger Ryan MacMurchy to the Aces while St. Louis (NHL) has re-assigned goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu to Alaska on the eve of a three-game series against the Stockton Thunder, opening Wednesday at Sullivan Arena.

Wood, MacMurchy, and Beckford-Tseu should be in uniform for tomorrow night's series opener against Stockton (19-9-7), who beat Alaska for the first time in nine tries on Sunday in northern California, 3-2. This season, Wood has contributed two assists in 16 games for the Rivermen, while MacMurchy has scored one goal in 15 games and Beckford-Tseu has posted a 6-4-1 record, including a shutout, to go along with a 2.27 goals against average and a .908 save percentage for Peoria.

All three players have suited up for Alaska this season, with Wood, a 25-year-old who signed a two-way contract this summer after spending two full seasons moving between Trenton (ECHL) and Philadelphia (AHL), scoring four goals to go along with an assist in his eight games. MacMurchy, a rookie who played on last year's NCAA champions at the University of Wisconsin, has scored twice with five assists in nine contests. Beckford-Tseu, who teamed with the retired Matt Underhill in net to help the Aces win the 2006 Kelly Cup, has won all five of his starts in an Alaska sweater this season, including two shutouts, a 0.79 GAA, and a .969 save percentage, the latter two numbers being the ECHL's best if he had enough minutes to qualify.

The Aces (25-11-2), still owners of the league's best record, and the Thunder play tomorrow, Friday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are now available by calling 258-ACES or at www.alaskaaces.com.
