
Bracken Kearns Loaned To Norfolk

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Bracken Kearns ["KERNS"] has been loaned to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL. In separate transactions, the Royals also signed forwards Larry Courville and Bill Downey.
Kearns has scored five goals and added thirteen assists (eighteen points) in seventeen games with the Royals this season. A third year pro from Vancouver, British Columbia, Kearns played seventy-nine games in the AHL last season with the Milwaukee Admirals, scoring eleven goals and assisting on fifteen others. Courville (32) (6'2/185), will see action in his eleventh season of pro hockey tonight with the Royals. A third round pick of the Vancouver Canucks in 1995, Courville played 33 National Hockey League games with the Canucks over three seasons in the late 1990's. Courville, who was inducted into the Reading Eagle Wall of Honor last season for his contributions to the Royals, has played 142 regular season games over four seasons with Reading, scoring twenty-four goals and assisting on thirty five others (fifty-nine points). Downey (26) (6'1"/180), will play in his fifth season of pro hockey tonight. Downey, who hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and played his college hockey at Penn State University, played two games with the Royals last season, scoring the game's first goal in Reading's 3-2 win in Wheeling on March 4, 2007.
The Royals play in Elmira, New York, tonight (7:35 pm) against the first place Elmira Jackals. The game night broadcast will begin at 7:05 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
