TONIGHTfS MATCHUP

The Thunder returns home for the first Stockton Arena matchup against the Bakersfield Condors, marking the second game in the nine-game season series. The Thunder is 6-4-6 lifetime against the Condors and went 3-1-1 at home against Bakersfield last year. The Condors are in the basement of the National Conference with a 5-14-5 record (15 points) and have just two wins in their previous 19 games. The game begins a season-long five-game homestand for the Thunder.

LAST GAME RECAP

Captain Brad Farynukfs game-winning goal 49 seconds into overtime lifted the Thunder to a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the Alaska Aces at Sullivan Arena on Wednesday. The win was the first in eight tries (1-6-1) for the Thunder on Alaskafs home ice and helped the Thunder become just the third team in 32 games to keep Alaska winless at home. Thunder forward Stephane Goulet forced overtime with a two-man advantage goal with 43 seconds left in regulation and rookie Jacob Micflikier led the Thunder offense with a career-high four-point effort (1g-3a).

PROSPECT WATCH

First round draft pick Ryan OfMarra (2005, New York Islanders) has a point in five of his last six games and leads the had a career-high three assists against Alaska on December 12 c fifth round pick and goaltender Glenn Fisher (2004, Edmonton Oilers) earned his first win since November 8 with a 25-save effort vs. Las Vegas on December 7 (2-1 Thunder win) c seventh round pick left wing Stephane Goulet (2004, Edmonton Oilers) has two goals and three assists in his last three games.

FLIK OF THE WRISTS

Thunder rookie Jacob Micflikier leads the Thunder in scoring with 27 points (8g-19a), pacing three points back of ECHL rookie scoring leaders Josh Soares of the Alaska Aces (14g-16a) and Floridafs Mathieu Melansonfs 30 points (18g-12a). Micflikierfs registered a career-high four points (1g-3a) on Wednesday at Alaska and has posted eight multi-point games this year.

Last Friday, left wing Liam Reddox became the second alum in Thunder history to play in the National Hockey League, making his debut with the Edmonton Oilers at Rexall Place against the St. Louis Blues. Reddox appeared in 70 games with the Thunder last season and scored 19 points (6g-13a) with a +6 rating in 22 games with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League this year before his call-up. Former Thunder defenseman Bryan Young made his debut with Edmonton last year.

ABOUT THE CONDORS

Bakersfield is entering its fifth season in the ECHL and is celebrating its 10th season in professional hockey. The Condors are independent of an NHL affiliate and set team records last year with a 94-point season, posting a 41-19-12 record which placed second in the Pacific Division. Captain Sean Venedam set a Condors ECHL record last year with 74 points (27g-47a) while left wing Brett Lutes led the team with 34 goals. Returning for his second stint between the Bakersfield pipes is goaltender Yutaka Fukufuji, who made history last year as the first Japanese-born player to make his NHL debut, suiting up for four games with the Los Angeles Kings.
