Boston Bruins Return Blatny

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced that the Boston Bruins have returned from loan left wing Zdenek Blatny. He will be with Providence Friday, December 16 when they take on the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Blatny is playing in his fifth professional season. In 17 games this season for Providence, the Brno, Czech Republic native has 12 points (2g, 10a) and is +1. In five games with Boston, Blatny had two PIM. Last season Blatny played overseas, where he recorded nine points (4g, 5a) in 24 games. During the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons the left wing split time between the Atlanta Thrashers (NHL) and Chicago Wolves (AHL). In 20 NHL games, Blatny has three goals and six penalty minutes. He was drafted by the Thrashers with their third pick (third round), 68th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bruins are back home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday, December 16 versus the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:05 p.m. Providence Bruins' players' wives and girlfriends will be collecting new, unwrapped toys on behalf of Toys for Tots for an hour prior to the game in the main lobby of the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Tickets are available online at providencebruins.com, at all TicketMaster outlets (401-331-2211 or 508/617-931-2000) and the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office. Information on individual game tickets can be obtained by calling the Bruins ticket office at (401) 273-5000 or by logging on to the team website.

The Providence Bruins first jersey auction of the season is underway. The P-Bruins are auctioning off the first set of gold third jerseys through a live auction on the team's website, providencebruins.com. The jersey auction will run through Friday, December 16 at 5:00 p.m. and jerseys will be shipped in time for the holidays.

Reminder: The Providence Bruins game originally scheduled for Sunday, February 12 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center has been re-scheduled for Wednesday, December 21 at 7:05 p.m. at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. All tickets issued for the February 12 game date will be valid and accepted on December 21.
