SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - The Schaumburg Boomers scored seven times in the first, Frank Pfister hit a pair of home runs and the pitching staff held the Rockford RiverHawks scoreless as the Boomers improved to 12-2 at Boomers Stadium with an 11-0 victory Friday.

The force was certainly with the first-place Boomers (17-9) on Star Wars night as thehome team took control of the game early and never looked back en route to a well-deserved win over the visiting RiverHawks (9-16). Pfister belted a three-run blast as the third batter of the game for Schaumburg and took the first pitch he saw from reliever Nelson Curry out of the ballpark in the eighth as he collected four RBI in the contest. LF Sean Mahley went 3-4 with his second triple on the year and C Ty Nelson continued his hot hitting with another multi-hit game - his third straight - going 2-4 with a pair of runs batted in.

On the mound for the Boomers, it was the second shutout of the season for RHP Robby Donovan who improves to 3-1. The 6'5" former Houston Astros farmhand surrendered just six hits over his six innings of work and added four strikeouts lowering his ERA to 3.96. RHP Joe Parsons was impressive out of the pen as the Virginia Tech product struck out five of the six batters he faced in the games final two innings

After Karexon Sanchez reached on an error by RiverHawks first baseman Evan Button, the Boomers collected four consecutive and took a 3-0 lead. Following the Pfister blast, a sacrifice bunt by Sean Mahley advanced Jereme Milons and Chad Mozingo, who reached on back-to-back singles, to second andthird respectively. Nick Kuroczko walked on four pitches and Nelson smacked the next pitch into the outfield to drive in two. Both the Boomers first baseman and catcher crossed the plate on Nate Baumann's RBI double. In the frame, the Boomers scored a franchise record seven runs on six hits.

The Boomers added a run in the second to take an 8-0 lead. With two outs, Mozingo reached on another error by Button and scored on Sean Mahley's second triple of the season. There the score remained until the fifth inning when the Boomers added another single tally for a 9-0 advantage. Back-to-back singles by Kuroczko and Nelson set the stage for Sanchez, who drove in Kuroczko from second on a single.

Schaumburg plated a run in the seventh and another in the eighth for the game's final margin of victory. Drew Heithoff's pinch-hit RBI-single through the right side drove in Sean Mahley from third in the seventh and Pfister's second bomb of the game off the net in front of the Boomers brand-new HD videoboard in left-center gave the Boomers a commanding 11-0 lead.

The Boomers go for the sweep Saturday afternoon with LHP Cameron Roth (4-0, 1.54) on the hill to take on RHP Drew Rucinski (2-1, 3.24) at a special 1 p.m. scheduled first pitch.
