Rockford Dist. UMC Men to Distribute $12K to Local Food Pantries

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford District United Methodist Men hosted their fourth annual hunger concert titled "Harmony for Hunger" on Friday, April 20, in Rockton, IL.
Between the generosity of sponsors and ticket sales, the United Methodist Men were able to raise over $12,000 to support local hunger organizations including: Millions, Rock River Valley Food Pantry, Belvidere/Boone County Food Pantry, Rockton/Roscoe Food Pantry, Pecatonica Food Pantry and the Cornucopia Food Pantry.
On Monday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m., the Rockford District United Methodist Men will present the monies to the hunger agencies at the Riverhawks game prior to the opening pitch.
The Harmony for Hunger concert has raised over $27,000 for the various hunger agencies from the past four concerts. The needs of the hunger agencies, however, have increased by 23% since 2009.
