ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned goaltender Hannu Toivonen to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. In addition, the team has recalled goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu and forward Yan Stastny from the Rivermen.

Toivonen, 23, has played in 16 games with the Blues this season. He has also appeared in three contests with Peoria this season, posting a 3-0-0 record, 1.95 goals against average and a .921 save percentage. Selected in the first round (29th overall) by the Boston Bruins in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-2, 200-pound backstop was acquired from the Bruins during the off-season in a trade for forward Carl Soderberg.

The 23-year-old Beckford-Tseu has played in 28 games with the Rivermen this season, posting a 15-9-2 record along with a .900 save percentage and a 2.61 goals against average. This is the Toronto, Ontario native's first recall to the Blues this season after getting the nod three times in 2005-06. Beckford-Tseu has yet to appear in a game with St. Louis.

Stastny, 25, has played in 34 games for the Rivermen this season, collecting 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) along with 48 penalty minutes. The 5-10, 189-pound center has played in 41 NHL games previously, scoring once and adding five assists between the Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers. The Quebec City, Quebec native is the son of former Blue Peter Stastny. Yan and Peter would be the second father and son combination to play for the Blues. Bob and Brent Johnson were the first.

Peoria will get back to action on Nesquik 2-for-Tuesday Night against the Houston Aeros at 7 pm. All upper bowl tickets are buy-one, get-one free with any Nesquik UPC Proof of Purchase presented at the Peoria Civic Center Box Office.
