Iowa Chops News Release
Des Moines, IA - Task #1 is complete and the Iowa Stars Apprentice Hockey League is now down to five finalists. Five contestants were chosen from over 20 who participated in the first task. Each contestant was instructed to bring an "unforgettable group" to the Iowa Stars game on Saturday, February 9th... and they did.
Wells Fargo arena was packed with neon yellow shirts, Super hero costumes, pink mohawks, grass skirts and inflatable palm trees, Hollywood celebrity look-alikes and paparazzi, and of course, the paper spleens. To make their group unforgettable each team adopted a theme to go along with drums, thunder sticks, noise makers and custom cheers which made for a rowdy crowd of nearly 6000 people.
The five most memorable groups were determined by Apprentice Hockey league coach, Tana Goertz. Jerah Gallinger, Ann Breeding, Eddie Buntenbach, Tony Dressen, and Tony Dickinson will move on to Task #2. "It was a really tough decision to make, we had a lot of great groups and the atmosphere was incredible, but unfortunately only five move on," said Coach Tana following the game. The five finalists will meet with Coach Tana tonight in the "boardroom" for their second assignment to see who will continue on toward a prize package that includes Bon Jovi suite tickets, Iowa Stars season tickets, hotel stays, airline tickets and tons of other great prizes.
The Apprentice Hockey League is a challenge combining personality, marketing skills, team spirit, and much more. Contestants going all the way will compete in a total of three challenges to determine who goes home and who wins one incredible prize package.
Challenge Night 2: February 22
Challenge Night 3: April 4
