
'Blades Lose Player To, Get Player From AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Vince Bellissimo has been reassigned to the club from the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League and that defenseman John Adams has been recalled to the AHL by the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Bellissimo makes his third trip to the ECHL this season after skating in 45 games with the Lock Monsters picking up eight goals and adding six assists. The 23-year-old's has tallied a goal and an assist in two games with the Everblades in his previous two stints in the ECHL.
The native of Toronto was a 5th round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2002 and made his professional debut last year playing in 12 games (3g, 3a) with San Antonio of the AHL. Prior to turning pro, Bellissimo played three years at the collegiate level with Western Michigan University tallying 113 points in 110 games.
Adams heads to back to Grand Rapids where he has skated in two games. Overall, the rookie out of Boston College has played in seven AHL games this year between Springfield and Grand Rapids. The 24-year-old originally signed with the Everblades on November 10 and has notched 12 points (1g, 11a) in 29 games with Florida.
Prior to turning pro, the native of Wayzata, Minnesota completed a four-year career with Boston College with 29 points in 136 games. Adams was drafted in the third round by the Buffalo Sabres in 2002.
The Everblades return to action tonight against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:35 p.m. from the The Arena at Gwinnett Center. Everblades 2005-06 group tickets and individual game tickets are on sale now!
