Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ - Johnstown winger Steve Cygan's power play goal with 4:40 left to play sent the Trenton Titans away with a 4-3 loss in front of 4,813 at the Sovereign Bank Arena.

Things looked good early for the Titans as they jumped out to a two-goal lead. Jim Henkel extended his goal streak to three-games with his eleventh of the season just 1:57 of the contest. Kiel McLeod made it 2-0 by sneaking a backhander through Morgan Cey's five-hold just 2:52 later.

The Chiefs would cut the Titans' lead in half with a power play by Brett Peterson at 12:15 of the period.

The, all by his lonesome, Dmitri Tarabrin allowed Johnstown to take a 3-2 edge in the middle period chipping in his fifteenth and sixteenth goals of the year in a span of 1:55.

McLeod made sure Trenton would head into the second intermission all knotted up as he picked up a loose puck on the penalty kill and wristed it home with 5.7 left in the period.

The Titans outshot the Chiefs 42-18 for the game, but would not hold the advantage on the scoreboard as Cygan's seventh marker of the season proved to be the game-winner.

Beauchemin made 14 saves to fall to 3-8-1 on the season, while Cey stopped 39 of 42. Trenton finished 0-of-4 on the man-advantage and 4-of-6 on the penalty kill.

The Trenton Titans look for revenge against the Johsntown Chiefs tomorrow night at 7:00pm. Fans can tune into WTSR 91.3FM or WBCB 1490AM or go to www.trentontitans.com to listen or watch live courtesy of b2 Networks.
