Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starter Tyler Cloyd went into Tuesday's tilt at PNC Field with a 1.00 ERA and nearly cut it in half in a 7-0 win against Buffalo.

The 28-year-old righty threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball, striking out four on 98 pitches to earn his first victory of the year. He issued one walk without allowing an extra base hit -- just a night after the Herd had eight. Cloyd was the Riders first starter to pitch into the seventh this season.

Conor Mullee completed the shutout effort, the RailRiders third this year, with 2.1 innings of his own. The 2010, 24th-round pick hasn't allowed a run this season. Jio Mier became just the first batter of 2016 to reach base against Mullee when he singled in the eighth inning.

Scott Diamond took the loss for Buffalo, giving up five hits and six runs across 4.2 innings without getting much help from his defense.

The Bisons were charged with four errors on the night. Two came in a three-run fifth inning which led to a RailRiders 6-0 lead.

Aaron Judge led the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre offense with four RBI. The Yankee's No. 2 prospect crushed a three-run homerun over the bullpen in left in the third inning, then cashed in Jonathan Diaz with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.

Matt Dominguez was the only Buffalo batter to get aboard twice, singling in the second frame as well as the seventh.

BISONS NOTES:

Dalton Pompey failed to reach base in a game for the first time this season...None of the Herd made it past second base...Buffalo's four errors were the most since a 10-5 loss to Indianapolis on May 26, 2015...The Bisons haven't been shut out since the season opener in Pawtucket. Buffalo was shut out 20 times in 2015.
