Today's Game
This afternoon, the Bisons face the Syracuse Chiefs in the finale of a three-game series from NBT Bank Stadium (1:05 p.m.). Buffalo's 4-0 shutout victory last night gives the Herd a chance at a series win over the Chiefs today. Tomorrow, the Bisons start a three-game series against the Red Wings in Rochester.
Playoff Picture
The Bisons gained ground in both races last night as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Columbus lost. Buffalo trails the RailRiders by six games in the IL North and the Clippers by 4.5 games for the Wild Card.
vs. the Chiefs
The Bisons are 10-5 against the Chiefs this season, and 5-4 at NBT Bank Stadium. The clubs will meet five more times in Buffalo, August 21-23 and September 1-2. With a victory today, the Herd can clinch a season series victory over their Thruway Cup rival.
Todd Redmond
RHP TODD REDMOND makes his six start and 19th appearance for the Bisons today. The righty has been used as a starter in his last three outings, including a five-inning, three-run defeat to Rochester last Tuesday. Redmond has faced the Chiefs three times this year (1 start, 2 relief) and has thrown 7.0 shutout innings against Syracuse (4 H, 9 SO).

INF MATT HAGUE'S 160 hits are five more than any other hitter in affiliated baseball. His lead over the rest of the International League in several categories continues to grow. His .349 average is 40 points better than any hitter and his .429 on-base mark is 55 points higher than the next closest. Hague also has 10 more RBI that the rest of the IL.
Andy Burns
INF ANDY BURNS picked up his sixth multi-hit game this month last night and is now hitting .405 (17-42) with seven RBI and five runs scored in 13 August games. His 117 hits on the season are tied for the 9th-most in the IL. His .298 average is 5th-best in the league.
Bisons Bits
The Bisons are 35-14 when INF MATT HAGUE drives in a run. The Bisons have been involved in 26 shutouts this season (11-15), three more than any other team. Buffalo is 47-11 when scoring first (.810).
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (64-54) lost to the Yankees yesterday, 4-1. Toronto was held to just five hits by Masahiro Tanaka, who threw a complete game. Toronto now trails New York by 1.5 games in the AL East. Today's series finale from Rogers Centre begins at 1:07 with RHP Drew Hutchison on the mound.
