Herd Wins Back-To-Back vs. Chiefs, 3-1

August 16, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release

Buffalo's bats were hot in the third and fourth inning to win back-to-back games at NBT Stadium against the Chiefs. Todd Redmond made his 19th appearance on the mound for the Herd on Sunday and earned his second win of the season.

An RBI single from Andy Burns in the third inning would start the scoring for Buffalo. After a walk from Chris Heisey and a single from Jon Berti, Josh Thole ripped a double to center field to drive in both runners to make the Herd's lead 3-0 early. Matt den Dekker hit a homer for Syracuse in the fifth inning, but that would be the closest the Chiefs came on Sunday afternoon.

Bisons' starter Todd Redmond pitched six innings and allowed only one run and four hits while striking out five batters, tying his season record set in early August vs. Charlotte. Ryan Tepera came in relief of Redmond for three innings of work. Tepera struck out three and only allowed one hit, earning his second save of the year.

The Bisons look to stay on top of the Thruway Cup standings as they wrap up their road trip this week against Rochester.
