Big Sticks Start Series Right with a 10-8 Win vs the Bismarck Larks

Badlands Big Sticks News Release
The Badlands Big Sticks fell behind 3-0 early in the 2nd inning after two home runs in the first two innings that got the Larks rolling.
The Big Sticks added a run in the 2nd inning due to a Coy DeFury (Texas St) RBI double that put the Big Sticks on the board, trailing 3-1.
They added three more runs in the bottom half of the 4th from Troy Berg (Augustana University) with a bases-loaded walk RBI and an error.
Larks added two more in the top of the 5th, and Badlands answered right back in the bottom of the 6th inning from a 2-run homer by Chayton Fischer (UTRGV), launching his 4th of the summer.
A 4-run bottom of the 7th inning for the Big Sticks was sparked by a 3-run blast by Gavin Schlotterback (Kansas) and another RBI double by Chayton Fischer to put the Big Sticks up 10-5.
Larks got 3 in the top of the 9th after the game was extended on a throwing error. Sydney Ward for the Larks hit his second home run of the evening, which was a 3-run shot to put them at eight runs and ten hits on the night.
Badlands closed out the game by the next batter and finished the game with 10 runs on 11 hits, with both teams committing one error.
Chayton Fischer was the player of the game, going three for four with 2 2B, 1 HR, and 5 RBI. Schlotterback and DeFury also had two-hit games, and Schlotterback hit his second homer of the season.
Ethan Wendel (McMurry) pitched the first three innings, allowing three runs, and Dylan Kerbow (Texas St) tossed the next 3 innings, allowing two runs.
Brady Owens (Georgia Southern University) pitched a scoreless 7th inning, and Logan Spivey (Georgia pitched the last two innings, allowing 3 runs.
Badlands will look to sweep the two-game series vs Bismarck on the last game of their homestand tomorrow. First pitch is set for 4:35 p.m. MST in Dickinson.
