Bears release 2004-05 schedule

HERSHEY – The HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the American Hockey League the 2004-05 regular season schedule of championship games that will make up the 67th AHL season for the league's most senior franchise.

The 2004-05 season will begin on Friday, October 15 with HERSHEY traveling to Norfolk, Virginia to take on the Admirals before returning home to face Norfolk in the club's home opener on Saturday, October 16 at GIANT Center. Face-off for the first home game of the season is set for 7:00 pm.

Highlights of the schedule include HERSHEY making the journey to St. John's, Newfoundland for the second consecutive season on March 4 and 5 against the Maple Leafs at Mile One Stadium. This is the second consecutive season that the BEARS have played in Newfoundland, having played in the AHL's easternmost city on October 15 and 16, 2003. The Philadelphia Phantoms play at GIANT Center for the first time in 2004-05 on Saturday, October 23 with game time set for 7:00 p.m. The Eastern Conference Champion Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will make their first appearance of 2004-05 at GIANT Center on Sunday, February 19 in a 7:00 p.m. start.

Other schedule highlights include a New Year's Eve game at GIANT Center against the Philadelphia Phantoms beginning at 5:00 p.m., and HERSHEY'S first three games in three-day stretch entirely at home in club history The BEARS kick off the holiday season with home games on Friday, December 17 against the Albany River Rats, a game Saturday December 18 against the Manchester Monarch and conclude the pre-Christmas schedule with a game Sunday December 19 at home against the Syracuse Crunch.

Season tickets are available now with good seats still available for the 2004-05 regular season. Single-game ticket information will be released later this summer.
