Manitoba Moose News Release
Today, the Manitoba Moose announced their 2004 exhibition schedule. The club will play a pair of games against one of their biggest American Hockey League rivals, the Hamilton Bulldogs. The first game will be October 8th in Fort Frances, ON at the Fort Frances Memorial Sports Centre. The next night, October 9th, the Moose and Bulldogs will move to Dryden, ON and the Dryden Memorial Arena. Start times for both games are 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be on sale starting September 1st, 2004. All tickets are $20 in advance.
This will be the first time the Moose have taken their exhibition schedule to both Dryden and Fort Frances. In 2003, the Moose played an intra-squad game in Dryden during their training camp. Besides the Bulldogs, the Moose have also played exhibition games against the St. John's Maple Leafs and Toronto Roadrunners.
The Bulldogs and Moose have a developed a divisional rivalry that blossomed in the 2003 AHL post-season. That year, the Moose pushed the Bulldogs to the limit in a seven-game Eastern Conference Quarterfinal that ended with a 3-2 Hamilton victory in Game Seven. The Bulldogs went on to drop a thrilling Calder Cup Final in seven games to the Houston Aeros. In 2003-04, the Bulldogs once again captured the North Division crown with 41 wins and 96 points, but were eliminated in the North Division Final by the Rochester Americans in six games.
