P-Bruins announce 2004-05 schedule

Providence Bruins News Release

The Providence Bruins announced today their schedule for the upcoming 2004-05 season, the 13th in franchise history. The Black and Gold, under the direction of head coach Scott Gordon, will play an 80-game schedule, with all games against their 13 Eastern Conference rivals. The season opens up at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence on Friday, October 15 at 7:05 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons.

The Bruins will play again this season in the seven-team Atlantic Division, and will play 10 games apiece against each of their six divisional opponents. Those teams are the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Lowell Lock Monsters, the Manchester Monarchs, the Portland Pirates, the Worcester IceCats and Springfield. This produces a total of 60 games against Atlantic Division rivals.

The Black and Gold will also face off with each of the seven teams in the East Division. They meet the Albany River Rats, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Hershey Bears four times each. Providence plays against the Binghamton Senators, the Norfolk Admirals, the Philadelphia Phantoms and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins twice each.

The Bruins' 40-game home schedule features 38 weekend dates. Providence will play 20 games on Friday night and 18 games on Sunday afternoon. The other two games are mid-week specials during local school vacations. The Bruins will host Hartford on Monday, December 27 at 7:05 p.m., and Lowell on Wednesday, February 23 at 7:05 p.m.

All Friday night games will be played at 7:05 p.m., while all Sunday games will get underway at 4:05 p.m. The lone exception is Sunday, February 6. On that date, the Bruins will host Worcester at 2:05 p.m.

The busiest months of the season for Providence will be in November, December and January, with the club playing 14 games in each. The Bruins will play a season-high eight home games during February, while playing a season-high nine games on the road during November.
