The American Hockey League announced today the schedule format for the 2004-2005 season. Each AHL club will play an unbalanced 80 game schedule featuring traditional and regional rivalries. The frequency of games between opponents is displayed in the attached grid. In total, 1,120 AHL regular season games will be on the 2004-2005 schedule.

The divisional alignment will see the St. John's Maple Leafs once again play in the Western Conference in the North Division with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Manitoba Moose, Cleveland Barons, Rochester Americans, Syracuse Crunch and the Toronto Roadrunners. St. John's will play 28 of their 40 home games and 56 of their 80 overall games against divisional opponents. As a result the club will face the Bulldogs twelve (12) times (6 home, 6 away), the Roadrunners twelve (12) times (6 home, 6 away), the Moose eight (8) times (4 home, 4 away), the Barons eight (8) times (4 home, 4 away), the Americans eight (8) times (4 home, 4 away) and the Crunch eight (8) times (4 home, 4 away).
