Bears Close Out Regular Season This Weekend
April 4, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Hershey Bears News Release
The HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club swept a two-game series on the road at Norfolk this past weekend, and now will finish the 2010-11 regular season with three games this weekend.
The BEARS play its final road game of the regular season Friday at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, with faceoff at Mohegan Sun Arena at 7:05 p.m. HERSHEY will return home Saturday and Sunday to conclude the 2010-11 regular season vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Syracuse. Tickets are on sale now at the Giant Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
Greentree climbs to 30: Left wing Kyle Greentree reached the 30-goal plateau Saturday in a 5-4 win over Norfolk at Norfolk Scope. Greentree scored two goals Saturday and was named the game's number one star.
Big rally down south: The BEARS dug a 4-1 hole after one period Saturday night in Norfolk before storming back to score four unanswered goals to win 5- 4. It was only the fourth time this season that HERSHEY had rallied to win when trailing after one period, and it was also the biggest deficit the BEARS had overcome after 20 minutes to win a game in 2010-11.
Collins recalled to Caps: Defenseman Sean Collins was recalled by the Washington Capitals Saturday. Collins has played in 73 games for HERSHEY this season, posting a plus 29 rating, tops on the club. The game for Washington Saturday was the first for Collins since playing 15 games for the Capitals during the 2008-09 season.
Admirals sunk in 2010-11: With back-to-back wins over Norfolk this past weekend, the BEARS finish the regular season series against the Admirals with a 6-1-0-1 record in eight games played. Goaltender Braden Holtby was a perfect 4-0-0 vs. Norfolk in 2010-11 with a 2.00 goals against average and a .935 saves percentage.
Protecting a lead late: Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, the BEARS have not lost a game this season in regulation when leading after two periods. HERSHEY is 31-0- 1-3 when ahead after 40 minutes of play this season.
Practice schedule: HERSHEY will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week at 10:00 a.m. before traveling to Wilkes-Barre on Friday.
