LOUISVILLE, KY - The Louisville Bats fought back to re-tie the game in three different innings but the Nashville Sounds used a homer-powered three-run sixth to pull away for good and win 8-5.

Bats starter Hunter Greene was a late scratch with soreness in his right AC joint. Tim Adelman filled in at the late notice but was tagged for four runs over his 2.0 innings of work, including surrendering back-to-back home runs by Brice Turang and Mario Feliciano in the top of the second inning.

Louisville answered Nashville's first run with a homer by Mike Freeman in his first at-bat since being optioned from Cincinnati. He also sparked the Bats' second rally two innings later when he doubled home a run and scored on a two-RBI knock from Alfredo Rodriguez that evened the score at 4-4.

Nashville remained pesky in the top of the fifth when Dustin Peterson singled and came all the way around to score on rip by Brice Turang that just eluded a diving Freeman. Reds rehabber Nick Senzel then continued his tear at the plate in the bottom half of the inning, doubling with two outs and scoring from second on an RBI single up the middle by Max Schrock.

With double, Senzel has five hits in his last three games.

The 5-5 tie was as close as Louisville came to edging out the Sounds. Nashville plated three additional runs in the sixth to pull away for good.

The two teams continue their series Thursday at 6:30 at Louisville Slugger Field. Louisville's RHP MIchael Mariot (2-3, 3.40) seeks a bounce-back start against LHP Aaron Ashby (5-4, 4.48).
