
Barons Battle for First During Final First-Half Homestand

Hoover, AL - The Birmingham Barons return to the "Magic City" for their final homestand of the first half with a five-game series against their divisional-rival, the Mobile BayBears, Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The two teams are battling for the top spot in the Southern Division and a chance to clinch a playoff berth by winning the first half of the season.
The Birmingham Barons will be hosting auctions on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the rest of the season with proceeds benefiting The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham's Alabama Tornado Recovery Fund. This weekend's auctions will feature baseball memorabilia such as: a George Brett autographed baseball, a Ryan Zimmerman autographed baseball, an Ozzie Guillen autographed cap, a mini helmet autographed by former University of Alabama pitchers Jimmy Nelson and Del Howell with "Roll Tide", a Colorado Rockies batting helmet signed by Seth Smith, a Joey Votto bobblehead doll, jerseys, minor league team autographed baseballs and much more.
Ladies Night and a pre-game concert highlight Thirsty Thursday to begin the series; there will be a ladies-only line at the box office and ladies-only beverage lines inside the stadium. Over the next two nights fans will be able to enjoy fireworks with Friday Night Fireworks and Super Saturday Fireworks Night. In addition to fireworks on Friday night, fans will also be treated to a Barons adult cap giveaway for the first 1,500 fans. Saturday is Emergency Service Night and Sunday is Home Improvement Day at the ballpark. In addition to Home Improvement Day on Sunday, kids eat free with the purchase of a full price ticket. To conclude the homestand the Barons will also celebrate Monday Night Baseball.
