JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns (32-28) fell 4-2 in the finale of their series against the Birmingham Barons (34-25) at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville on Wednesday afternoon.

The Barons rallied for three runs off Suns starter Joey O'Gara (4-3) in the top of the seventh to take the lead, thanks to a two-RBI double for Greg Paiml and a RBI single for Tyler Kuhn that gave Birmingham a 4-2 advantage, which would be the final score.

O'Gara took the loss for the Suns after tossing seven innings while allowing four runs on eight hits with a walk and six strikeouts. Charlie Leesman (6-1) took the win for Birmingham after going six and two-thirds innings only giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits.

After the Barons took a 1-0 lead in the first, the Suns rallied for a pair of runs in the fourth to take the lead. Jim Negrych's sacrifice fly to centerfield tied the score at one, before Neil Sellers advanced to third on a wild pitch by Leesman and then scored from third on a throwing error by Barons catcher Josh Phegley to give Jacksonville the 2-1 advantage.

After the Barons took the lead, the Barons received solid relief pitching by Nathan Jones and Dan Remenowsky, who pitched the ninth in scoreless fashion to earn his seventh save in 2011.

With the loss and Mobile's 11-6 victory over Huntsville, the Suns are now three games out of first place with ten games left to go in the first half.

The Suns will bus Wednesday night to Montgomery, Ala., where Jacksonville will start a five-game series against the Montgomery Biscuits on Thursday night at Riverwalk Stadium. The Suns will start left-hander Darin Downs (1-4, 6.10 ERA) while the Biscuits will start right-hander Nick Barnese (1-2, 3.89 ERA). First pitch is set for 8:05 p.m. ET, and fans can listen to the game beginning at 7:50 p.m. on with the U.F. & Shands Pregame Show on Jacksonville's WFXJ AM 930 the Fox and www.jaxsuns.com.
