Owen Sound Attack News Release

Owen Sound Attack rookie forward, Colby Barlow was named to the Team Canada roster for the new Capital City Challenge. The event is a one-off replacement for the World Under-17 Challenge, and will feature three teams of the top 2005 born players from across Canada, as well as the Canadian Women's Nation team.

For the U-17 players this represents their first taste of Canada's Program of Excellence, providing an opportunity for players to showcase their skills against others in their age group. The Women's National Team is using the event as preparation for the 2022 Olympics, and will offer a unique challenge for many of the U-17 players.

"It's a huge honour to play for your country," Barlow offered. "I'm super grateful for this opportunity, and excited top get to Ottawa and represent Hockey Canada."

Barlow has shown his great offensive instincts, as he has registered five goals within his first nine OHL games. The Attack rookie has also shown some apt defensive awareness with timely stick lifts and a strong presence of being on the strong side of the puck.

The Capital City Challenge will be held at TD Place Arena in Ottawa and is set to begin on November 26th, with the Gold Medal game set to be played on December 1st.
