Niagara IceDogs News Release
Tonight, the Niagara IceDogs hit the road and faced the Sudbury Wolves for the first time this season.
The first period saw a very physical game. A total of 6 penalties for Sudbury and 7 for Niagara didn't leave much time for scoring chances. Jake Uberti received a game misconduct for a check from behind.
The first period finished off scoreless.
The second period included a lot more chances from both teams. Sudbury was able to bury the puck twice, one of which was on their power play.
After 40 minutes, the score was 2-0 in favour of Sudbury.
Pano Fimis got a fast goal on the power play, early in the second. Danil Gushchin received a game misconduct for a check to the head.
Ultimately, the Dogs ran out of time and Sudbury took the win, 2-1.
The IceDogs are back in action on Sunday when they travel to Mississauga.
