Ottawa 67's News Release
The Ottawa 67's will be represented at the inaugural Capital City Challenge tournament, with forwards Chris Barlas and Luca Pinelli being named to Team Canada.
The tournament, being played in their backyard at The Arena at TD Place, will take place from November 26 to December 1. It is a one-time event, replacing the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Canadian Women's National Team will also compete, as part of their centralization schedule.
Three groups of Canadian U-17 will compete against each other, as well as the Women's National Team.
An Ottawa product, Barlas was drafted 12th overall by the 67's in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection. After missing the start of the season, he has suited up in six games for the Barber Poles.
Pinelli was Ottawa's first pick of the second round in 2021, at 28th overall. The Stoney Creek, Ontario native has three assists in six games this season.
Off the ice, 67's athletic therapist Marie-Pierre Neron will serve in the same capacity for Team Canada Black, at the tournament.
The 67's are next in action Friday, November 5, hosting the Peterborough Petes at The Arena at TD Place. Puckdrop is set for 7:00pm EDT.
